Uthayn editor Vithiyatharan detained for 3 more months

Colombo Pettah Court majistrate, Jegan Balapitiya, extended Wednesday the detention period of Uthayan editor Vithiyatharan for 3 more months when he was produced before him by Prevention of Crime Branch police, sources in Colombo said. The police requested the court for the extension of detention of Vithiyatharan on the directions of Gothabaya Rajapakse, Defence Secretary and the brother of President Rajapakse, the sources added.
The police pleaded for the extension as they have to continue investigation related to Vithyatharan’s alleged phone conversation in connection with the aerial attack on Colombo.
The magistrate granted permission to hold Vithiyatharan in detention for three months from 26 February.
The police submitted Vithyatharan’s medical report in the Court.
On Thursaday 26 February armed persons and men in police uniform who arrived in three white vans abducted Nadesapillai Vithyatharan, 51, the prominent editor of Jaffna-based Uthayan daily and Colombo-based Chudaroli, eyewitnesses told TamilNet. The abduction came six days after Mr. Vithyatharan was grilled by the Sri Lankan Terrorist Investigation Department (TID). The TID had questioned him for six hours on news and views that appeared in his papers on Sri Lanka Army (SLA) attacks on civilians in Vanni and about his interactions with the officials of the Tigers in the past. Police spokesman Gunasekara, who first said that the editor was abducted by unidentified men, hours later claimed that he had been arrested.

Why 3 more months? to starv him to death? to make up a story to prove that he involved with LTTE? even if he involved with ltte that is no a crime. the srilankan sinhala budhist only government itself is full of war criminals. systemetically abducting and raping and killing and burning them half alive. how many more innocent tamil civilians we have to lose? how can someone in the earth still silently watch this kind of atrocities and war crimes?
all the tamils must take actions rightaway other than peace protest.
srilankan government is most dangerous to the humanities. if world doesn't take any efective action by stoping this 61 year sinhala budhist dictatorship on tamils then the world itself have blood in their hands and responsible for all the innocent civilians death.

Its the LTTE which killed people like foreign minister kadiragarmar, Army chief sarath fonseka while having signed for a Cease fire with the government!
They are cowardly murderers with no value for human life!
They could have stopped the war by not breaking the ceasefire!
Ultimately they stopped water for the farmers , which forced the government to take action which they actually detested! We the sinhales hate WAR! But LTTE gave us no option!
But remeber we do not have any grudge with the normal tamil brothers and sisters! for your information we have almost 50- 60 (out of 500 all) Tamil students (Jaffna- Vanni etc) And we have complete faith understanding and fellowship with each other!
Don't help the LTTE, if you are helping them then u r indirectly
helping the LTTE to destroy your fellow brethren!
I am a Sinhalese engineering undergrad.
I had my training in Dehiwala with 3other students from Jaffna.
We had a great time and Language or Religion didnt become a barrier for Us or our fellowship.
FYI: only 30% of the population in the Capital of SriLanka are sinhalese about 50% are tamil while the rest are muslims.
So if the sinhalese are such racists how can that happen?
Please give me a similar example if u can find one.
Pls do not distort facts nor write about things that u are not aware of.
Because The LTTE are the most ruthless terror outfit that ever walked the EARTH.
They have killed more tamils than all the other people and left the Tamil public with no credible leadership.
LTTE and its leadership will have to pay for all they have done to the tamils rather than sinhales.
The Blood thirsty Maniacs of the LTTE are now in the verge of being annihilated , so pls help the Democratically selected government to do it.
