Chennai - The Tamil Nadu (TN), Minister, Thangam Thenarasu on behalf of the Tamil Nadu state wide educational institutions handed over 12.61 Cores rupees to the Chief Minister (CM), and DMK party leader, Kalaingar. M. Karunanithi initiated relief fund for Eelam Tamils. The fund was collected among the officers, teachers, and other staff in Education institutions in all over Tamil Nadu.

The institutions which functions under the Education ministry raised 5 Cores, 98 Lacks, 87 Thousands, four hundred rupees, Primary Schools raised 6 Cores, 14 Lacks, 29 Thousands, 796 rupees, Education for Everyone Organization raised 25 Lacks, 96 Thousands, 432 rupees, Teachers Educations and Research Division raised, 20 Lacks, 93 thousands, 623 rupees, Matriculation Colleges raised, 36 Thousands, 628 rupees, Tamil Nadu Educational system raised 68 Lacks, 998 rupees and many other institutions under the Education ministry raised total of 12.61 Cores.

Eelam Tamils are living in subhuman conditions with food, medicines and basic essentials items to Vanni where there people over 330,000 Internally Displaced People including 40,000 children due to the relentless military onslaught on Vanni for past many months.

The TN CM urged Tamil Nadu masses to generously support the fund. The fist batch of the relief aid reached Sri Lanka and soon these aid to reach Vanni needy people through Red Cross in Sri Lanka as it has been arranged by the Indian government.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Periyar Dravida Kallakam organized a conference on the genocides of Tamils in Sri Lanka by the Singhala forces and to urge the Center to bring back the Cease Fire Agreement (CFA) between two warring parties in Sri Lanka on Sunday from 4:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m. Somasasa Vethika organization representative Asoke, Karnataka Tamil Sangam representative I. Rasan, and Tamil Sangam deputy President Meenadchy Suntharam and many other well wishers of Eelam Tamils took part in the conference and condemned Sri Lanka for the killing of Tamils and Eelam and India for providing the military assistances to the Sri Lanka.

Kolathoor Mani also spoke at the conference where he said Sri Lanka shrewdly using India to advance its genocidal agenda against Eelam Tamils. Sri Lanka aiding China to create the “Operation Pearl Chain” in Indian subcontinent area to safeguard their economical and military influences in the Indian subcontinent which is clearly very detrimental to the Indian interest in the area.
