AL JAZEERA EXPOSES HUMAN RIGHT VIOLATIONS IN THE LATEST VIDEO:

US Ambassador Robert Blake, Former Foreign Minister and Campaign manager for President Rajapakse, Mangala samaraweera, Tamil MP Mano Ganeshan and the recently assassinated Singhala Editor Lasantha Wickramatunge's wife has been interviewed.

Sonali Samarasinghe, Lasantha's 1 month old second wife has left the country after the funeral for fear of her life. So has Mangala Samaraweera who has gone to Europe, and is
in hiding without any contact with even his close friends.

Interestingly, this is the type of democracy, the international community and Co Chairs want the Tamils and the LTTE to embrace, after 26 years of civil war.

Sri Lanka media caught in the crossfire


With the Sri Lankan government pushing ahead with its offensive against the Tamil Tiger separatists, calls for a ceasefire are growing both from outside and inside the country.



Al Jazeera's Tony Birtley reports on the dangers facing some in the Sri Lankan media who speak out.
